US Walmart-owned Flipkart freshly has stated big news that it has entered into a strategic partnership with E-commerce company “Sastodeal” of Nepal. This significant deal will allow millions of Flipkart and Sastodeal sellers to access the e-commerce market in the neighbouring country. According to a statement, under this partnership, Sastodeal will showcase over 5,000 products from Flipkart sellers on its platform and vice versa.
Flipkart stated that such opportunities present small and medium businesses more confidence in the segment of e-commerce platforms and move their business digitally. According to the statement, the partnership with Sastodeal will strengthen the long-term e-commerce industry in both countries and trade opportunities. Flipkart’s brands like Marque and SmartBoy will also get showcased on Sastodeal platform under which special consideration will be given to shopping categories such as electronics, apparel, home appliances and furnishing.
At present, there are two lakh Flipkart sellers spread across India, out of which more than 50 per cent hail from big cities like Jaipur, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Meerut, Surat, Kanpur, Agra, Coimbatore and Ahmedabad. Flipkart CEO stated that Partnering with Sastodeal will not only give our seller access to a broader market segment but will also help them grow their business. He said that Nepal’s e-commerce business has a lot of potentials, as more and more consumers shop online there.
Just a month ago Flipkart had acquired Walmart India for a great deal in which it purchased a 100% stake in it. With this, the e-commerce giant has prepared to enter the Indian wholesale market, and in August, the company is going to bring Flipkart Wholesale. Nowadays After Amazon India gained Netmeds, Flipkart has also decided to enter the e-pharmacy segment. Before entering into the business of online medicine, Flipkart wants to make sure that there is no legal case left, which causes problems in the industry.
